COMPETITIVE GYMNASTICS

EKGA is proud to offer a successful Competitive program for those gymnasts who show the desire and talent to compete. Our goal is for each of our athletes to reach their highest potential in gymnastics in a safe and positive environment.  The Competitive stream caters for gymnasts with the ability and desire to excel in Competitive Gymnastics.

We offer several competitive streams at EKGA for both Girls and Boys.  These include WAG Australian Levels Program, AGC, Gymstar, MAG Australian Levels Program and the Tramp Australian Levels Program. These programs offer a wonderful opportunity for gymnastics to train multiple days and to compete against other clubs at local, regional and statewide competitions.

One program is not inherently better than the other—they are all designed to suit the needs and abilities of different gymnasts.  As such, each child may find benefits competing in each program at different times during their gymnastics career.

Gymnasts may be offered a position in one of these streams based on their suitability and potential to be successful in that stream.  The coaching staff will determine what best meets the needs of each child on an individual basis.

In order to be considered for a position in a competitive program Gymnastics are evaluated on:

  • Physical Ability (raw strength, flexibility, power, and body tension)

  • Ability to apply feedback and corrections

  • Determination

  • Body shaping/posture

  • Resilience

  • Attitude towards teammates and coaches

  • Potential to continue to improve

Positions in these programs are by selection/audition only.
